I seldom need remote console access anymore since my office is 30 feet from the server, but it's nice to have the option if I'm out of the office (I loaded the OS remotely on it from 30 feet away just because). I can get to it's console without Java, so I'm happy. Our new host (R730xd) came with iDRAC 8 Enterprise. Used it to get into an old EMC SAN, as well as some old Motorola WAP's.)
